National Sovereignty

Emerging from the worded wisdom comprising the written text of the Constitution, the government of the United States of America was born.  As the creature of the States in compact, it was referred to as the “General Government”.  The union of the States itself, in terms of the People, became an entity on the world stage, and we call it “America”.

America is a sovereign nation-State Republic inside of which functions the Democratic principle. It is a Democracy within a Republic, with the Democracy being limited by the law of the Republic.


The General government’s authority derives its legitimacy from the bosom of the People in their respective sovereign nation-State Republics, referred to in abbreviated vernacular as “the States”.  The People won their sovereignty in war, defeating England, and bestowed some of that sovereignty through their respective States to, first, the Articles of Confederation and then shortly afterward to the General government. That is the source of empowerment for the General government. The States each gave of themselves a portion of their sovereignty, that it might empower that newly-created government for mutual advantage.  


Many killed for it. Many died for it. But as it is even today, the majority of the people at that time did neither. British loyalists and Tories opposed our Revolution, while only a minority of the Colonists fought for our Revolution. Most  Colonists abstained from the actual fighting.



Eighteenth Century man’s view of war included the assumption that from any war must emerge a victor and a vanquished.  When they united to throw off British governance the Colonies defeated one of the most powerful military mechanisms of their day. In so doing they established American sovereignty.  They bequeathed that sovereignty to us through a written Constitution.


Therefore, as Americans we each share in a national sovereignty.  Our sovereignty as America has survived for over twenty-three decades, despite a War Between The States, two mechanized World Wars, and a trans-generational Cold War which spawned a half-century spate of winner-less, futile, and costly wars across the last half of the twentieth century.


But we’re still here, still singing about Old Glory, still keeping a somewhat opaque candle glowing in a dimming room, still breathing air as “America”.  To put it mildly the world knows we’re here and thinks we’re “real”.  America. “One Nation Under God, Indivisible….” And, sovereign.


The challenge is how to keep our sovereignty – how to retain American sovereignty in a world blindly morphing into global governance. Powerful forces exist, and are quite busy in a networking infrastructure comprised of men who manage the globe’s economic theater, who seek to control the policies of nation-States, and who fancy themselves somewhat divinely commissioned to save mankind from himself, at whatever the cost. The direction is toward an oligarchic collectivism undergirding a facist merger of the Corporate Dynasty with Government, based on amassed “laws” written to facilitate international trade and political ontology. It is backed by the assets of all of the nation-States on the roster of the United Nations. Those assets include national militaries and the corporate industries which supply militaries with the goods to do what militaries do.


The globalist collectivist oligarchy has ridden inside our Country’s government on trade agreements, treaties, and pacts. They come as economic methods, political methods, sociological methods, and ecclesiastical methods – and they all make demands for compromising our Constitution.


Right square in its path stands the United States Constitution. That is, in part, why our Constitution, and our sovereignty as a nation-State Republic, is under siege.




The United Nations (UN) is sitting right here on U.S. soil in New York City, on land donated to the UN by the Rockefeller family.  The United Nations would appreciate a little voluntary relinquishment of America’s sovereignty.  For one thing, the UN wants the authority vested in the World Court to supersede the authority in our U.S. Constitution.  In other words, if the World Court were to decide that our Constitution’s Second Amendment stood in the way of world crime reduction, the ‘superior authority’ of the World Court fully expects to over-ride our Second Amendment and use the U.S. government’s systems of force (enforcement power) to effect the collection of private firearms across America.


That is one example of an attack on American sovereignty, and its current face is that of the UN’s Small Arms Treaty.


How the World Court might think it plausible to do such a thing is indicative of the UN’s objective, which is to establish a higher sovereignty through world government, under which all nation-States, including America, must surrender some of their sovereignty in recognition of a higher external source of authority.


That is just what the Colonies did to form the United States of America. At the time of the American Revolution there were thirteen British Colonies here, and their subsequent union through their compact (the Constitution) engendered their sovereignty. Today, the UN wishes to play the role of the General government of the world, and its “Colonies” are the nearly two hundred nation-States on their membership roster. The hierarchy of authority is the same pattern for the UN’s control over the world’s nation-States as that pattern of our General government’s control over the Colonies, the several States.


We can see today how our own General government ignores its limitations as enumerated and granted at Article 1, Section 8. The massive scandals of May, 2013, show clearly how corruptible centralized power becomes once it converts its citizens to ‘subjects’. The States have been bullied out of their due sovereignty, and most States have forgotten their right to the act of nullification. Half the country thinks that the War Between The States locked the several States into the compact under all conditions. And in the midst of that argument the entire reality of the sovereignty of the individual is forgotten or overlooked or just ignored. The States now fear the General government in Washington D.C. more than they respect their own citizens, to whom they owe primary fealty.


Our General government itself is signed onto the roster of nation-State members in the United Nations, which would love to see Americans disarmed that it might better shape this nation into a more compliant resource to be shared by every other nation-State on earth, fairly and equally of course.



That has much to do with why national sovereignty is prerequisite to the experience of freedom of the individual to own and manage his life without interference from his government.

This concept is all about security, for you and your family. The idea is to be able to take care of yourself and your loved ones under any circumstances. The concept is that if you have to leave on short notice or no notice, you can have a kit that will allow you to survive well and not be a victim. Possible scenarios that could require a bag like this are a violent and destructive storm, a train wreck with poisonous gas filling the area, or massive fires. You might also have to leave to go to the rescue of a friend. The assumption is that without your kit, in your everyday life, you have inadequate or no supplies. These items will serve you in rural or urban areas. You may be at work, and so unsuitably clothed, or asleep in bed when the need arises. With your kit ready, you have what you need to be safe and productive. Here is what you should prepare:


Shelter is always your first necessity. Even in a vehicle or building, you might not have heat. Outside,  you might have too much of it. Your greatest need for shelter comes when you are sleeping and your metabolism is lowest. Sleep is essential to life. Without sleep, you are soon worthless. When you are mentally alert you are more likely to be able to control your comfort, or move to better circumstances. If each person in your party has a sleeping bag, bivvy sack, and sleeping pad, you can be secure in any weather. Choose a synthetic insulated bag, with a hood, and a nylon toothed zipper. Coil zippers fail too quickly. A tapered bag is lighter than a rectangular bag. It should be large enough to allow you to wear your coat while sleeping, and still not be tight. It should have a couple inches of insulation on top for temperatures above freezing, and 3-4 inches of insulation for temperatures below freezing.

A bivvy bag is the short version of “bivouac bag”. ( A bivouac is a short term camp.) Unless you are in a structure, you need a cover around your insulated bag to protect it from rain, wind, blowing dust or snow. You may also need mosquito protection. The deluxe version is a commercially made bag by Outdoor Research. This would have a Gore-Tex top, waterproof bottom, a hood with a hoop to keep it off your face and a mosquito net. The most basic protection is a 6×8′ or 8×10′ poly tarp from the local hardware store. An in-between choice is an extra long backpacker’s poncho which is folded in half with the sleeping bag placed inside. The sides of the poncho are tied together at the grommets, or snapped at the edges. This poncho can be worn as rain and wind protection or rigged as a tarp.

You will want a pad to sleep on. The most basic is a 3/8” or 1/2” closed cell foam camping pad, either half length or full length. The deluxe version is a self inflating, 2 1/2” thick, full length pad. This will be expensive and heavy. I like to cut the foam pad into 16” pieces, fold them like an accordion, and duct tape them at the folds, so the pad folds out like a map for sleeping, but folds up flat for stowing. /(A roll takes up more space and is not so versatile.) Some foam pads come designed this way. (Z-Rest) A mid-range option is a full or ¾ length, tapered, self-inflating pad, 1” thick. This has more comfort, and is still packable.

You may want a pillow. You will need one if you sleep on your side. You can use your coat, or get a simple inflatable pillow. Are you in a safe place, but it is unbearably noisy? Have a pair of disposable foam ear plugs in your sleeping bag. There are a hundred places where you might need rest, but where it might be too loud to sleep. The plugs are reusable indefinitely. Wash them in soap and water.


Your life expectancy without water is only a week or less in hot areas. You should start with at least a sealed quart bottle of water, and have empty containers if you have plenty of water available in your area. Plan on two quarts of water per day as a minimum for drinking only. You will need more depending on your level of exertion, washing and cooking needs.

You need a filter or purifier and a two containers to carry your water, one for drinking, one for everything else. With treatment materials on hand, you can drink from any source of water. You don’t need to treat the water that does not get drunk. The most basic water treatment is purification tablets,(POTABLE AQUA) or purification liquids. (POLAR PURE) The deluxe version is a good water filter. All models filter out pathogens, and some will also remove viruses, (MSR MIOX) and others will remove organic chemicals, and even radioactivity. (FIRST NEED). Mid range options are filter straws, filter bottles, and backpacker’s filters. (KATADYN HIKER MICROFILTER).

The best containers are flexible plastic or nylon bags. These take up no space when empty. They don’t slosh when ½ full, and they don’t break. Best value is a PLATYPUS, which comes in ½, 1 and 2 liter sizes. Mid-range is the MSR DROMEDARY, in 2-10 liter sizes. More expensive and heavy are the CAMELBACK series. Also useful are used liner bags from wine boxes. These can hold a lot of water, and are reusable. Put these in sturdy cloth bags or covers to protect them. The cheapest water containers are commercial plastic drink bottles.


You will want light, ready to eat, nutritious food that will keep you going for 3 days. You will want 2000+ calories daily. You don’t really need food, since fasting a few days usually makes you stronger by cleansing your body, but the mental stress of feeling hungry isn’t helpful in an emergency. Besides, you don’t know if the emergency will be past quickly or not.

The deluxe way is to buy freeze dried meals with self heating packs. These are very tasty and satisfying. MREs are also expensive, but fairly complete and have long shelf-life.

The most basic way is to go to the grocery store and buy off-the-shelf items. Look for foods that do not need cooking, are light and storeable. Instant oatmeal is edible with soaking in water. Get the variety packs. Oatmeal is filling and flavorful. As are cereal bars. Instant soups can be used with warm water. POWER BARS, CLIFF BARS, protein bars, protein mixes and shakes, will also serve. You can buy trail mix, or make your own. Buy dried fruit, mixed nuts, chocolate pieces, sunflower seeds, shredded coconut, raisins, or such, and combine them as desired. Beware: the combination of sweet and salty will make you want to eat more than you need! For the satisfaction of eating, with out having to use up all your food, bring “in the shell” sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds. These will keep you occupied, and give your appetite time to catch up with your meal.

Dried cereals, such as MUESLI or granola can be repackaged in zip-lock freezer bags. Add powdered drink mix to the pouch for more flavor if you like.

Jerky is good if you can find it without MSG. (monosodiumglutamate) MSG will make you feel tired and your muscles ache. Read the labels. Don’t get anything with MSG! (It is also disguised as “hydrolized proteins”. Hard salami or sausage may work if you keep it cool and do not store it too long.

Some hard candies are quick energy, and enhance on otherwise bland diet. Note: if they sit in storage too long they turn syrupy.

If you can afford the weight, add canned goods to your kit. The most versatile choices are stew, baked beans, and mixed vegetables because you can add what you have to them. For protein, get canned beef, fish and chicken. The best values are corned beef, and Jack Mackeral. Most expensive are sardines, kippered snacks, salmon, roast beef, and chicken. Make sure you can open the cans. You have a multi tool, right? If not, you are most in need of the information here about preparedness. Tools are humankind’s most basic resources! More on this in another section.

You will need to drink, which can be used to help warm or cheer yourself up. Add some herbal tea, instant coffee, hot cocoa, or soup packets. If you must wait, sipping a warm drink is a good way to do it.

The most basic utensils are a steel mug and a Lexan soup spoon. With these you can cook, mix, drink, scoop, catch, carry and eat. The best is a titanium mug with a lid. It should hold at least 24 ounces, so you don’t have to fill it repeatedly to get enough. My next favorite is a stainless steel “space saver” mug with folding wire loop handles. It holds 3 cups liquid, and will serve for innumerable purposes. The economical way is to use an empty tin can with a capacity of about 24-30 oz. Bring the spoon! You can improvise a fork with anything, but spoons are hard to fashion. I have a collection of carved wooden spoons from the times I forgot my spoon! Bring the spoon.

If you will want to cook, the most basic apparatus is a votive candle and aluminum foil available at any department or drug store. Put the candle under a metal cup or tin can. Moving up in effectiveness, get a folding metal stove with heat tablets or canned STERNO fuel. Compact, light and easy to use are the burners that screw onto a a small iso-butane canister. MSR, COLEMAN and SNOW PEAK are makers. These will fit into a steel or titanium cup with the fuel canister. Add a spoon and some food, and you are ready to go. More elaborate, and more for longer term use, are the liquid fueled stoves with separate fuel bottles. MSR is the leader, with it’s WISPERLITE, and multi-fuel INTERNATIONALE. Both fold up their wire legs, and will fit into a 1 qt. pot with a small fuel bottle.


This is a subset of shelter. Theoretically, if you are well clothed, you would not need any more shelter. But that can be cumbersome.

Pack for the climate in which you live. Plan for the extremes of your area. Start with sturdy shoes in which you can walk over rough terrain. You won’t go far without foot gear. Have a pair of cushioned hiking socks,/reverse these two items/ and a pair of thin liners. Choose sturdy earth tone synthetic- blend poly-cotton pants, with a nylon belt. Your belt will carry your multi-tool, knife, and other necessities. Your shirt should be synthetic or poly-cotton blend, with long sleeves, and 2 button down chest pockets. In hot weather you may want a cotton T-shirt. Excellent underwear is a pair of sweat pants with elastic waist, which you cut off as shorts. You can use these as wear-alone shorts, sleep wear, or swim or bath wear.

Add a coat, with a wind shell. Hand warmer pockets and a hood are good. Put a pair of gloves in the pockets. You will need your hands, and gloves protect the hands from harm. A cap with a brim for the sun, with earflaps for the cool, is good and versatile. A knit hat for sleeping or on cold days is invaluable.

A bandana has a hundred uses. Wear it as a neckerchief to keep your body heat in your coat; protect your neck from sunburn; wear it hanging out of your hat for bug protection; use it as a strainer for water, a wash cloth or towel, dust mask, sunshade or bandage, sling or tourniquet.

In temperate climates or high altitudes, have a fleece coat or vest for layering to add warmth.

RAIN WEAR: Unless you live in the Atacama desert,where there has never been recorded rainfall, have some! The most basic is a backpacker’s poncho, which is a multi-use piece of shelter. The deluxe version is purpose made -coat and pants, with hood and gloves. Avoid the PVC junk that will fall apart the first time you put it on. You can use a trash can liner bag in a pinch, but it is not the first choice.


Get a small LED flashlight, preferable one with a single AA battery. The cheapest useful light is a DORCY AAA LED light from Wal-Mart. They are about $5, give long service, and have really usable light. Don’t store the battery in the device. It will corrode the aluminum! A spare battery is wise. Up the scale is a headlamp with red and white LEDs. Red will save your night vision, and uses less energy. A red LED will still shine even when your batteries are all but dead. White will let you see colors. Good choices are RAY-O-VAC 3-in-one, red, white, and halogen headlamp, or something similar. Top end are the 3AA battery, 1 Watt LED head lamps that will shine 100 yards, that cost $60-80. If you need the reach of an expensive halogen light with CR123 lithium batteries, ($2/00/-300), you can get similar results with GERBER’S FIRECRACKER 1 AA LED light. It is amazing, and costs only $25.

If you expect cold temperatures, chemical heat packs can be very helpful to keeping warm, especially when sleeping. If you get the larger size, you can stop the heat and use them again by sealing them in a zip-lock freezer bag until the next night. They work off air, so cutting off the air stops the oxidization process. They leave an inert iron oxide powder when depleted. Bring fire making materials.


Not everyone is your friend. It is axiomatic that man’s greatest fault is to satisfy his wants with the least possible effort. That may mean someone taking what is yours without your consent or knowledge. If you are in crisis, others may be also. If others are stronger or more numerous than you, how will you even the match for possession?

The most basic way is a large can of hi-potency pepper spray. This has many advantages. Bad guys have to be somewhat close to be most harmful. If they are not, you have room to maneuver. When they are close, use pepper spray which will reach 30+ feet. You spray a cloud, so you don’t need special skill or training. It is not lethal, so you can make a mistake and no one dies. It gives you time to leave, and is not easily traceable to you. It requires no special paperwork or permission. (It is illegal in some countries.) A big can will cost less than $ 50. You can get one for everyone for whose protection you are responsible. It works on all kinds of varmints, large and small, two legged or four legged. If the powers-that-be don’t allow you to have pepper spray, and you are discovered, the penalty is much less than if you had lethal means. If you are in danger, go ahead and use it. Your conscience will not be burdened with a homicide, but you will be alive. The bad actor will get over it.

Edged weapons and firearms are a class all by themselves, and a more complex discussion. If you are not already experienced and trained, get the pepper spray. When your self-preparedness kit is assembled, make yourself a note to enroll in a concealed weapons class, then do it. Carrying a weapon without training is one way to cause yourself unneeded trouble.


Have some cash in your kit. Many small bills are more useful than fewer larger ones. Have coins for coin operated devices. If you don’t want to be tracked, don’t use your plastic, and take the battery out of your cell phone.

If you are preparing for the coming hyper-inflation, have some silver rounds in your kit. You do have silver, don’t you? If not, why not? The powers that be can’t add trillions of dollars to the money supply without creating inflation, since that is what inflation is. As when it rains, streams rise, so too when the money supply is increased, you will get inflation. The only wild card is how much and when. Silver has all the qualities of real money, (a store of value, since it takes real human effort to obtain it; recognizable; easily divisible; transportable; commonly accepted; not easily duplicated; durable; and all the good qualities of barter goods, like being useful and necessary. Silver is valuable because it is scarce, and each year more of it is used up in industry and medical uses. Silver has hundreds of current and ancient uses, and never will go out of favor. Get some before everyone realizes how rare it really is. If you go to your local coin shop and are told there is none, you will be a believer. If you have none, you are already behind the curve.


The most basic mode of travel is still walking. Have decent shoes to do it with. Next of all is riding. A decent mountain bike can be had for $50. Have an air pump and patch kit, with tools. Horses or mules will work as transportation for for some. take basic extra gear and tools with you.

Going up in speed and price are mopeds, trail bikes, motor cycles, and compact cars. You might choose a sedan, SUV, or truck. Whatever it is, do the basic maintenance on so it will go when you need it to go.

You might start the move on public transportation. You will not want to attract undue attention if there is not a general panic. If there is, you might avoid the bus! Therefore, pack so you can carry your kit. If you can’t take it along, it will not help you.


Bring first aid supplies commensurate with your training. If you have no training, buy a first aid booklet at the drug store, and pack these:

WOUND CARE: gauze pads for bleeding, adhesive tape, antibiotic cream, alcohol wipe pads, ACE bandage, latex exam gloves, I recommend a pack of powdered blood clot powder,called TRAUMADEX, or similar powder from Z-MEDICA. If you are cut or shot, you will bleed. This powder has been proven in recent wars to save lives, when minutes count. It is easier to keep blood in, than to replace it. This is also true even if you have the training to administer transfusions.

MEDICINE: pain killers, as Ibuprofin; cough drops, sinus medication, Pepto-Bismo; eye drops, re-hydration powder, sun block, sunburn cream, coal tablets for diarrhea, and lip balm. Some with knowledge will want herbal essential oils.

TOOLS: single edge razor blade, tweezers, sharp mini scissors, zip ties, mirror (how will you get that speck out of your eye without a mirror?) Put in another pair of foam ear plugs. You may have lost the others, or given them away. Toss in a pack of paper matches for sterilizing, and a few safety pins. These have dozens of uses for medical or repair. All this should fit in a kit that will fit in a pouch about 6x6x2 inches. Make sure it is waterproof.


A man without tools is like a lion without teeth or claws. He may have strength, speed and cunning, but can hardly capitalize on it. You need tools.

The absolute first and foremost tool is a knife. Fixed or folder, get one with a 3 or 4 inch blade, and make sure it is sharp. Get a sheath for it, and wear it on your belt. You want it with you even if you lose all else. Along with my little knife, I like to have a knife called a BUSHMAN by COLD STEEL. This has a hollow handle so it can accept a handle extension, to be used like a sword or spear. It has a blade about 10” long, which can be used for anything from skinning a moose to slicing bread or watermelons. When I have a big job, I want a big blade. When I am in hostile environments, I sleep better with it at hand.

The next most useful tool is a multi-tool. Get one with a pliers, not just a scissors. LEATHERMAN and GERBER are the leaders here. These will grip, cut wire, open cans, lift bottle lids, turn screws, file materials, bore holes, saw wood, chisel and cut. A cheap Chinese imitation will cost $10, and a used USA -made one will be $25. For a new one, you can spend up to $80. Get one.

The old way, and still valid, is to get a small slip-joint pliers, and use it in conjunction with a 4-bladed Scout pocket knife. This gives the pliers feature, and a good blade, can opener, bottle opener, leather hole punch, and screwdriver. That is what I did 30 years ago. Your choice.

I like to have a small, folding saw with me. Even in urban areas there is wood to be had, and you may need to fashion a walking stick, handle, lever, digging stick, spear, club or whatever. GERBER has one with chainsaw-style teeth that can be resharpened with a round file.

If you wear eyeglasses, put in an extra pair. Old ones will do. You don’t need to see perfectly, you need to survive. In any event, some eye protection is wise, sunglasses or goggles, since you need to protect your eyes in adverse conditions. If you are biking, keep your helmet, knee and elbow pads close to your bike. A small repair kit could be very important: take duct tape, wire, a sewing kit, safety pins, nails, cord and string. You may need some keys. A small radio, compass, and binoculars are recommended.


You will feel a lot more human if you can clean up and care for yourself. Add a small tooth brush, and travel size paste, dental floss, small soap, TP, and female products as desired. If you need medications to survive, put in a spare supply. Consider a small towel and wash cloth, and insect repellent. Personal momentos and trinkets fall into this category. You may want to include a helmet, smoke mask, goggles, and other personal safety gear..Your spirit needs care too, so I carry a small Bible for direction, confidence, encouragement and companionship.


Much of the world runs on paperwork, unfortunately. It is a good idea to have essential documents along, or certified copies of the ones most crucial. Include your birth certificate, driver’s license, Passport, medical information, bank information, insurance documents, deeds and titles, and computer back-up device. Write down some of the most important phone numbers you use. Don’t rely on your electronic device to remember for you. I think it is good to encrypt the numbers for credit cards, bank accounts, social security cards, PINS, and other critical identifying information. Add pen and paper, and maps of the area.


You need some way to contain and carry this. My preference is a backpack. This way, if I am on my own, I can take it all along and still have my hands free. With my hands free I can lean on a walking stick, look at a compass or map, handle a weapon, ride a bike, climb, work, or assist. And my shoulders are stronger than my arms. Get a sturdy internal/-/frame hiking pack. It should have a waist belt and padded shoulder straps. The frame is only 2 stiff wands in the side next to your back, but it helps keep the load controlled. A good pack can hold more than you want to carry. Don’t over pack; you will just end up dumping excess along the way after you have tired yourself. Once you have assembled your kit, put it all in bags, measure the total cubic size and then get a pack for it.

Another good choice is an Army surplus duffel bag, especially one with backpack style shoulder straps. These have a unique closure on top than can be locked with a padlock. This keeps out the casual pilferer, and alerts you if it has been invaded. It is a good idea to line this all with a large, contractor-grade lawn-and-leaf bag. It will survive a water incident in much better shape. Pack small items according to group in plastic zip-lock bags.

Put a list of all the contents in the top, and a note of what needs to be added, updated, or renewed and when.


Now that each one in your group has this kit packed for his or her needs and ready to go, you can rest easy, because you are ready to take care of yourselves no matter what life throws at you.

I’ll admit that I believe Glenn Beck. I say that after many years of angry resentment of the guy’s disastrous attacks on Ron Paul, libertarians, and “general conspiracy theorists”. I began listening to Glenn Beck in late 2001, five afternoons per week. I listened for years, and I understood that there was no way a guy like me could ever get Glenn’s ear to have a heart to heart about some undebatable evidence which would greatly alter Glenn’s perception of what the hell is going on in our General government in WDC, so I just stewed in my resentment and grew more and more angry with the guy.

I never thought he was intending to be evil – I just felt that he did not know enough about what he choose to talk about. I could tell that he was willing to learn, at his own rate of course, when he created the 9/12 Movement.

Now I’m in Glenn Beck’s camp, with only the slightest hint of cautious reservation. I actually believe that Glenn Beck is finally informed well enough to help the country now, and that he has done a ton of homework in the past couple of years and is getting fairly knowledgeable about the dirty games in WDC and on Wall Street. I have watched his lengthy apology to the Libertarian Party, and I believe he is sincere. He is asking the libertarians to work with him, having admitted that he was wrong on some important things. I urge the liberty movement in America to work with Glenn and help him develop his TV programming for the benefit of the country.

I recall how Glenn Beck railed against Ron Paul back in 2008 because Ron Paul attacked the Federal Reserve System, Inc. Glenn noted to his large listening audience that Ron Paul was talking about actually shutting down the Federal Reserve if he got into the White House, and Glenn breathed that fire with aerosol-laden venom, like that was insane.

That said, I’d like to share with our readers a video of one of Glenn’s shows in which he hosted G. Edward Griffin. I think Glenn did a very decent job, and this show helped me see that Glenn was willing to learn and that once he had the truth he would act on it. State Sovereignty

In our writings here at Oath Keepers Operation Sleeping Giant you will encounter the word “state” used with different meanings. When the word uses a lower-case “s”, as in “state”, we are denoting, generally, a “government”. When the word uses a capital “S”, as in “State”, we are denoting a political entity, such as any of the “several States”. Michigan is a State; the government of Michigan (and any or all other States) is “the state”.


Here we want to note that in a transition made through revolution, Colonies became States. Each Colony, in becoming a State, created its own Constitution, created its own system of law, of weights and measures, system of autonomous infrastructure, and indeed all the systems of governance properly belonging to a nation-State Republic.


The thirteen Colonies became thirteen sovereign nation-States and acted as such under the Articles of Confederation until the ratification of the Constitution for the united States of America.


Under the Articles of Confederation each confederate State possessed its own sovereignty. Each State may be described as being a “sovereign nation-State Republic”.  It was a confederation of nation-State Republics. Those nation-State Republics were duly empowered by their own respective autonomy and sovereignty to delegate representatives to the convention which became the Constitutional Convention. Their delegates are the signers of the Constitution.


As such, the States’ delegates acted on the authority which derived from the sovereignty of their respective States. As such, said delegates were “authorized” to sign onto the Compact which we now call the Constitution for the united States of America.


Bearing that in mind, let us now look at something from a speech given by John C. Calhoun, a Southern statesman who authored the Fort Hill Address in 1831.  In that speech he notes –


“The error is in the assumption that the General government was party to the compact.”


He is saying that the General (Federal) government was not a party with the several States in the compact which the States signed. And when we look into the matter, we notice that no one signed the Constitution on behalf of the General (Federal) government.  That is history, and it is huge.


I say it is huge because it shows clearly that the several States created the General (Federal) government. That means that the Federal government, despite its modern-day attitude toward the States, did not create the States, was not present when the Colonies became States, was not present at the Constitutional Convention, and, finally, did not have a representative within the compact’s delegate pool sent forth by the States.


No one from, or representing, the General government, signed the U.S. Constitution – because it did not exist until the States signed it into being.


Much has been, and may yet be, said on the subject of State sovereignty. It is pleasing to note that a member of Oath Keepers Board of Directors, “Sheriff Richard Mack” of the CSPOA (Constitutional Sheriffs And Peace Officers Association), won a law suit against the Federal government. In a Supreme Court decision in 1997, Sheriff Mack won for America a major States rights decision


In Mack/Printz vs USA (Bill Clinton administration) 1997 Justice Scalia wrote for the majority opinion. A synopsis of that writing is in a pamphlet distributed by Sheriff Mack and the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA). It is incontestable that the Constitution established a system of “dual sovereignty” Gregory v Ashcroft, 501 U.S. 452, 457 (1991); Tuflin v Levitt, 493 U.S. 455, 458 (1990). Although the States surrendered many of their powers to the new Federal Government, they retained “a residuary and inviolable sovereignty.” The Federalist No. 39, at 245 (J. Madison).


Residual state sovereignty was also implicit, of course, in the Constitution’s conferral upon Congress of not all governmental powers, but only discrete, enumerated ones, Article I, Section 8, which implication was rendered express by the Tenth Amendment’s assertion that “[t]he powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”


The Framers’ experience under the Articles of Confederation had persuaded them that using the States as the instruments of federal governance was both ineffectual and provocative of federal state conflict.


The Framers rejected the concept of a central government that would act upon and through the States, and instead designed a system in which the state and federal governments would exercise concurrent authority over the people.


The great innovation of this design was that our citizens would have two political  capacities, one state and one federal, each protected from incursion by the other “- – “a legal system unprecedented in form and design, establishing two orders of government, each with its own direct relationship, its own privity, its own set of mutual rights and obligations to the people who sustain it and are governed by it.” U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v Thornton, 514 U.S. 779, 838 (1995) (Kennedy, J., concurring). The Constitution thus contemplates that a State’s government will represent and remain accountable to its own citizens.


As Madison expressed it: “[T]he local or municipal authorities form distinct and independent portions of the supremacy, no more subject, within their respective spheres, to the general authority than the general authority is subject to them, within its own sphere.” The Federalist No. 39, at 245.


This separation of the two spheres is one of the “Constitution’s structural protections of liberty. “Just as the separation and independence of the coordinate branches of the Federal Government serve to prevent the accumulation of excessive power in any one branch, a healthy balance of power between the States and the Federal Government will reduce the risk of tyranny and abuse from either front.”

The First Step In Sovereignty

Whenever readers see the acronym “VA” here at Operation Sleeping Giant, unless otherwise denoted it stands for “Veteran Activist”. Plural is: VAs. The Sleeping Giant is the American Veterans community. Every Veteran, many millions in number, took the Oath. Every Veteran stood and served this great nation.Veterans are above questioning when it comes to their patriotism. They already have shown that they care, that they would grant this nation years of their very lives in service and sacrifice.

Operation Sleeping Giant is asking all Veterans to stand once again in defense of our Republic. We are calling on all Veterans to become Activists. Thank you for being here. Thank you for your prior service. Thank you for the service you next shall embark upon in the interest of saving America from a corporate-funded fascist totalitarian military-police state tyranny.

Your answer to the call is welcome and we embrace you. We are not promising anything. We face an uphill battle in the psy-war for America. Our fate is not unprecedented -

“The sole governing authority presiding over the tumultuous events of the American Revolution between 1774 and 1789 was a body known as Congress. With no power to regulate commerce or lay taxes, and with little ability to enforce any of its decisions, this group, representing the thirteen colonies, declared independence, conducted a war that defeated one of the greatest military powers of its day, and invented a new political entity that became a sovereign independent nation. Its members pondered everything from the rightness of independence to the number of flints needed by the armies–sometimes with the enemy not far from their doorstep. Asserting their rights, they found themselves labeled as traitors.

“The fifty-four men who composed the First Continental Congress represented different interests, religions, and regions; they held conflicting opinions as to how best restore their rights. Most did not know each other; some did not like each other. With no history of successful cooperation, they struggled to overcome their differences and, without any way of knowing if the future held success or nooses for them all, they started down a long and perilous road toward independence.”


When our Founding Fathers spoke of unalienable rights, they ascribed same to each individual born as an American. As Americans possessing unalienable rights, we must now face the fact that our rights are under direct attack by a berserk mechanism posing as our General government. As we all know, that government seated in Washington D.C. at present is not our Constitutional government – which is why it daily bleats out instructions to law enforcement to keep an eye on anyone who talks about the Constitution,  (Re: FBI flier), or is a returning War Veteran (Re: Leaked DHS Document), or supports any of the Third Party candidates (Re: The Leaked MIAC Report). Let us be clear – no government representing the will and consent of the governed would declare war on the American people as this government did on December 31, 2012 when it created the NDAA-2012. By declaring America a battleground in the alleged “War on Terror”, thereby placing every American citizen under military jurisdiction, the General government has finally taken off the mask. It next will take off the gloves. Now it seeks to disarm us. Can we with any credibility still cling to the claim that the government which is doing this to us is our true representative government? Does that government have your consent?

The paper says:  “…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security…”

The “consent” of we the people is required.

Operation Sleeping Giant is calling all Veterans to become Activists in each Veteran’s community. If you wish to accept our challenge and join our work to guard the Republic, you will be expected to master certain increments of knowledge as being basic. You will be challenged to alert your neighbors, groups, circles, families to a potential problem which could occur, such as a natural or man-made calamity, or during a failure of this nation’s monetary system, which presently is in the hands of the Federal Reserve System.

Operation Sleeping Giant will ask you to give your neighbors solid good advice, workable systems, alternative plans and operations for handling adverse situations and conditions of other types, such as natural disasters. You will be expected to speak with neighbors about the importance, not only of general preparedness, physical security, economic security, but  of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution as written. All of these things will be served best by doing the most important thing Operation Sleeping Giant shall ask of you – educating your neighbors to the concept of, and physical reality of, Sovereignty.

Sound preposterous? Not so!

Everything Oath Keepers shall ask of our Veteran Activists (VAs) shall be expedited more completely and successfully by each member once the basics are understood and integrated. Whether it is prepping or security or money-matters or sovereignty, the basics of the freedom perspective which is the driving spirit of our form of self governance must be used as our foundation in understanding all nuances of the Oath Keepers mission. We have to get it right, first time, every time, when spreading the word about the Constitution.

Operation Sleeping Giant starts and ends with Sovereignty. The awakened sovereign individual, acting within his local, County, and State responsibilities, is the bulwark against an encroaching tyranny. The sovereign soul, enmeshed in flesh as we all are, is the foundation on which America was built. The public attention has been misdirected away from that fact over the past eleven decades. To guard the Republic, Oath Keepers is bringing back to the nation’s attention the fact of sovereignty.

For the individual Veteran Activist, the first question is simple and direct:

Three Arenas of Sovereignty

It could be said that of the four planks in Operation Sleeping Giant’s challenge for Veterans, one plank is the reason for the other three. That plank is Sovereignty.

Sovereignty itself is contested in three important arenas, so Oath Keepers will spend some time on all three.

National Sovereignty

State Sovereignty

Individual Sovereignty

The above listing could be reversed if it’s “order of battle” were to be indicative of significance. In the spirit and written words of the U.S. Constitution, the ultimate source of sovereignty exists within “We The People”. The Constitution delegates all legitimate authority as being sourced to the individual American citizen. Therefore, you and I as individuals must understand our own Sovereignty, individually. It is from your and my understanding of our Sovereignty as individuals that State Sovereignty derives its legitimacy. As the citizenry of a County establishes its own sovereignty, it empowers other Counties within its State to likewise become strong and independent. When most Counties of a State are self-sufficient and prepared to handle their problems at the local level, the State itself is empowered.

Likewise, it is from the Sovereignty of the several States that National Sovereignty derives its legitimacy. A union of fifty empowered States will find that its General government (in Washington D.C.) will cease its current insane desire to dominate the States which created it.


So the most important, bedrock, basic unit in our country is the Individual, and said Individual, in order to fully fulfill his responsibilities as a citizen, must master the knowledge of his own Sovereignty. That part of Sovereignty is carried within a phenomenon which our Founders called “Unalienable Rights” – meaning rights which came from God or Nature’s God. Oath Keepers is asking all members and supporters to always remember that each individual’s unalienable rights are of a higher authority than any man-made government, including the General government of the USA.

No government on earth can duplicate you as a person, cannot create life, cannot replace you. The governments made by the mental consensus of the collective mind of man cannot bring one new soul into this world, but that which created you has done so over and over, untold billions of times. Creation itself is of a higher authority than man-made government. The rights with which we come into this world are not subject to governmental denial. Our Founders wrote the Constitution carefully so as to shield those rights for each American against the government they intended to found.  That is not surprising, as they had just pitched a quite nasty Revolution to throw off a tyrannical government which had deprived the Colonies of their unalienable rights.

Our unalienable rights are protected by the Constitution for the united States of America – and that is what the fight is all about in America today. Whether it be a question of “free speech” or gun ownership or privacy or fully-informed juries or whatever else the General government is currently attacking, most Americans now are aware that a Federalized attempt is afoot and proactively seeking to redefine Constitutional protections granted to each American citizen. It is coming at us from a “Top-down” strategy in the form of “Executive Orders” and so-called “Laws” which would trample our unalienable rights under the excuse that our security demands our auto-imprisonment as a people. That is what is at the root of why you’re reading this at this website at this time.

Here at Operation Sleeping Giant we intend to go into the question of Sovereignty. We are asking all of our Veteran Activists (VAs) to do more reading than one might normally do. We want our Veterans to know the foundation on which our liberty as Americans exists. No single subject covers that liberty as well as the subject of Sovereignty.

Thank you for digging in and reading before you get out there in your TAOR and start helping your neighbors prepare for the mighty struggle approaching. Nothing builds one’s confidence like knowledge!

U.S.S. Economic Titanic has already hit the economic ice-berg and is sinking. Arguing over who should be the next captain is not going to save us. Even if we replaced the entire leadership staff, by firing all of Congress, that also won’t save us. Those who have served in the infantry know the old saying “embrace the suck,” which means to accept reality and deal with it. Well, we need to accept the reality that an economic collapse is coming, embrace the suck, and deal with it. As Patrick Henry said, it is better to know the worst, and provide for it, than to delude ourselves with false hope.

Frankly, we should be glad it is coming on our watch, so that we can clean up the mess we have allowed to happen, rather than leaving it to our children and grand-children to fix. As Thomas Paine said, If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.” Exactly. This is our watch, so let’s get it done so our children and grand-children may have peace and freedom.


So, knowing that the ship is sinking, what do we do? Do we sit on our butts and wail and cry about what’s coming, while waiting to hit the icy water? Do we jump into life-boats and wallow around, waiting to be rescued? That’s what the globalist power elites want us to do. When the Federal Reserve created fiat money system collapses, when the ship sinks, they will then “rescue us” by sweeping us all onboard the U.N.N. Global Leviathan – their “final solution” of a world-wide version of the “Fed” (out of the IMF) along with ‘world governance.” That has been their plan all along – con us into sailing an un-seaworthy fiat hulk, sail it into an iceberg, and then “rescue” us onto their massive prison ship. You think getting rid of the Federal Reserve is tough? Just wait till you are under a world “federal reserve.”

So what do we do? Well, the USS Constitution is still sitting right there, off the stern! She’s still sea-worthy, able to weather any storm. We need to jump off of this weak, fiat imitation of a system we have been conned into sailing for nearly a hundred years, and get back onboard with our Constitution. We have neglected her. The supposed leaders have forsaken her. But we, the crew – us oath-sworn veterans, and We the People – who are the real owners – can still sail her if we but realize she is still there, just waiting for us.

And then let’s sail back into liberty waters onboard the Constitutional Republic built by the blood and sweat of our forefathers. That is the answer to the globalist’s plans. Certainly we are all in this together, whether or not we are veterans, but the veterans of this nation have a critical role to play. Each of us who served are still bound by our oaths to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and we must acknowledge that it has been because of our neglect of our duties, because of our negligence, that our nation has come to this. So, we veterans have a duty to right this wrong. We have the training and leadership experience it will take to help lead our people in resisting the dark plans of the global elites and in getting back to liberty. Together, we can defeat them and restore our Republic.

America’s veterans truly are like a sleeping giant. It is time to awaken them and fill them with a terrible resolve to defeat the domestic enemies of our Constitution and their globalist fellow travelers. If we wake the veterans up, this Republic will be saved. If we don’t, then I fear that this Republic will fall. If we can’t get the veterans to step up and do what must be done to save our Republic, then how can we expect to get the rest of our people to do what must be done?

So, let’s WAKE THEM UP so they can help us wake up the whole country and so they can take the lead in restoring this Republic and resisting the plans of the enemy.

If we reach the veterans fast and “reactivate” them, with their leadership we can get our neighborhoods, towns, counties and states squared away so we won’t be weak and desperate when the fiat money system crashes. The stronger ‘We the People’ are within our states, the less pretext there will be for “martial law” during a crisis and the less likely the current serving military and police will be to go along with it.

The more wide awake and prepared the veterans are, the more they can lead their neighbors in weathering the storm without sacrificing liberty on the alter of temporary security. Veterans can lead the people in standing up and defending the powers reserved to the states or to the people (see the 10th Amendment), resisting the liberty crushing plans of the political and financial elites who intend to use chaos as an excuse to scrap our Constitution and national sovereignty once and for all.

Time is short, and we must get the veterans to focus on:

  1. Food, fuel, emergency medical, and communications security and independence (and general preparedness) – as individuals, within local veterans organization chapters, neighborhood mutual aid societies, churches, co-ops, farmers markets, and at the town, county and state levels. As a start, follow the advice on (you don’t need to be LDS to learn from their experience in food storage and preparedness, or to use their canning facilities). Grow gardens. Support your local farmers. Fight any regulation that would limit your ability to grow your own food. Why is food first? Because it is the hardest to improvise, and it is a great weakness of modern man, who, with few exceptions, no longer stores up for bad times. Ditto for fuel and medical supplies. And when it comes to communications, we must have in place an alternative system, such as HAM Radio, so if/when the internet comes down (or is taken down) we can still communicate (for example, if each VFW Hall had a HAM Radio, that would provide a state-wide network).
  2. Physical security and Independence – again as individuals, neighborhoods, veterans organization chapters, towns, counties and states, to include forming neighborhood watches; mutual aid associations; a volunteer sheriff’s posse (staffed by self-supplied volunteers but under direct command of the sheriff); and county militias established by county ordinances but staffed by self-supplied and self-funded volunteers (as is done in volunteer fire departments all over this nation); state defense forces under command of the governor; and ultimately, a true state militia, established by state statute, capable of “repelling invasions” (using the research and model bills of Dr. Edwin Vieira). As for training, a great first step for the newbie or for those who are rusty would be to attend the Project Appleseed rifle instruction program, offered for a pittance in every state by traveling volunteer instructors.   3. Economic security and independence – as individuals and communities, including barter networks, use of silver and gold as real money, and sound money bills at the county and state levels (as Utah just passed). This would also include each of us having a “liberty trade” – something you can do even in a very localized, back-to-basics economy, and we must support and build resilient local economies that can weather hard times. We must have an alternative to the fiat money system in place when it collapses, so we can resist what the globalists have in store for us next. See for details.
  4. State sovereignty and nullification of unconstitutional federal laws and actions. Veterans must support only sheriffs, local and state legislators, and governors who have the knowledge, courage, and integrity to keep their oaths. To vote for an oath breaker, is to become an oath breaker. We must enforce the bounds of the Constitution and defend the powers reserved to the states and to the people (see the Tenth Amendment) by supporting state sovereignty resolutions and nullification of unconstitutional laws. Certainly, there are other critical actions that all of us should be taking to both stop abuse of our rights and to restore our Republic, but the above four areas of focus are absolutely essential if we are to resist the plans of the globalist elites. These are necessary. We must be strong in these four areas when the crash comes.

What we do now, in whatever time we have left, will be critical. We must focus on solutions, not just diagnoses of the problems. And the solution is to restore our Republic from the bottom up, strengthening our communities at the neighborhood, town, county and state levels as we go. None of us has a crystal ball. We don’t know exactly at what point the collapse will come. But when it comes we will certainly be in a stronger position than we are now, if we start from the bottom up, rather than putting all of our focus on Washington DC, as people tend to do.

Maybe we will only have time to get our neighborhoods ready. Maybe we will be fortunate enough to be squared away at the county level when the collapse comes. Or maybe we will be fortunate enough to have time to get it done all the way up to the state level. Certainly, we can work on all levels at the same time, but it is best to focus most of our energy on ourselves and our local communities, and work our way up from there. And we can do it in both the private and public sphere. We shouldn’t put all our eggs in any one basket. Let’s build up public institutions, but also while doing so, let’s take private action as individuals, family, friends, and neighbors.

Once again, we should be doing all of the above anyway, because that’s what it means to be a free people in free, sovereign states, in a constitutional republic, but it is especially crucial as we face the prospects of a coming economic collapse. Time is short, so please help us spread the message to all veterans and all Americans, and turn the tide.

Throughout our history, all of our enemies have misjudged the strength and resolve of the American people. The British Officer Corps were convinced that Americans were cowards who would not dare to fire on the Kings troops, only to have their asses handed to them by a swarm of ticked off American veterans while retreating back to Boston from Lexington and Concord. Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan also misjudged our resolve, confusing our love of prosperity and peace with weakness, only to awaken a sleeping giant that kicked them in the teeth. Our enemies have always misjudged us as being too soft, too decadent, too disorganized and weak to put up much of a fight. And we have proved them wrong every time. The same holds true now, in the fight against the globalist, power-mad “elites’ who think they have us pegged, think they have it all figured out, and think we are too weak to resist their plans. It’s time to give them a lesson in American ingenuity and resolve.

In 2011, so far gold has been the champion investment above and beyond any contender, including stocks and equities. At the announcement of the S&P downgrade of America’s credit rating, only gold showcased immunity. In fact, gold has thrived (as we predicted) in the face of any potential economic threat, from deflation in stocks, to inflation of fiat currencies. Some may wonder, though, where silver has been while its big brother is flexing its investment muscle? While traditionally, silver tends to follow market surges in gold, the past eight months have been rather confusing for the cheaper metal. Admittedly, silver has performed far beyond the predictions of slow witted mainstream skeptics, but it still has not come anywhere near its true potential, especially in light of gold’s incredible strides. Many may be wondering how it was possible for gold to stampede into the $1800 an ounce range after the downgrade while silver stayed completely static at around $40 an ounce. The behavior of commodities markets has been, indeed, very strange…

The common assertion by MSM pundits is that because silver has a larger industrial market than gold, silver is affected more negatively when stocks decline. This is absurd logic. Silver is still very much an alternative currency and just as much a hedge against market instability as gold is. All told, silver should actually be MORE apt to increase during economic uncertainty than gold, because of its wider industrial usage and subsequent decreasing supply. The “utility argument” for decreasing silver values just doesn’t fly.

As many are well aware, silver is a much smaller market than gold, with fewer primary players in control of tighter trade. Most of us are also well aware that one of these players, JP Morgan Chase, was exposed as a massive silver manipulator in 2010 by commodities trader Andrew Maguire. Gold and silver investors have been demanding a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) investigation of such manipulation for decades. These demands fell on deaf ears, and claimants were quickly disregarded as “conspiracy theorists”. Issuers of ETFs (paper silver or gold) have long circulated silver equities supposedly backed by real metal, but when investors began to notice that the amount of paper issued far surpassed the amount of real silver in actual circulation, the scale of the manipulation in progress became quite clear. Global banks were purposely driving down the value of silver by creating the illusion that there is a greater silver supply than there actually is. JP Morgan has also been caught red handed initiating coordinated naked short selling of silver equities as a way to fool average investors into believing that demand for the metal is falling.

With the Maguire revelation, the hope was that the CFTC would finally do their job and take market manipulation seriously. So far, they have not. Maguire’s evidence and testimony have been ignored, investigations were limited to a few pointless committee hearings, and the global bank ETF fraud continues.

Another snake in the grass when it comes to precious metals investment is the COMEX itself. The COMEX is not a free market by any means of the term. It is in fact a highly micromanaged exchange owned and operated by an organization called the CME Group based out of Chicago. CME is the preeminent hand in the flow of trade in all commodities (at least until recently). Their main method for stifling the rise in metals is the use of “margin hikes”. Buying silver equities “on margin” allows investors to borrow capital from a company with a certain percentage of their own cash as collateral, in order to get more silver than they would using their personal funds alone. When the silver margin sits at 50%, for example, an investor with $10,000 can borrow from the company to buy $20,000 worth of securities (ETFs). However, if the CME increases the margin from 50% to 75%, that investor will have to quickly increase his collateral by 25% or lower his silver holdings. CME has the ability to make these changes at will, and such margin hikes have the ability to trigger massive sell-offs in metals, especially silver. In May of this year, as silver edged towards $50 an ounce, CME hiked margins four times! Three times in the span of only seven days! Investors scrambled to unload their ETF’s, which they could no longer afford to collateralize, and silver’s price plummeted to around $30 an ounce.

The CME (and the idiots who defend the CME) often claim that they must raise margins aggressively in order to offset market volatility caused by “speculators”. Strangely, though, there was NO VOLATILITY in silver markets in May. Not until the CME actually increased margins, creating an engineered dump of equities. This forced reduction in silver prices also greatly benefits consistent short selling manipulators like JP Morgan and HSBC, but that’s just a coincidence, I’m sure.

Obviously, someone out there does not like the idea of silver crossing the historic $50 an ounce mark…

So, the next logical question is; how long will this manipulation go on, and how can we fight back? The keys to the end of commodities manipulation may already be in play, while methods for combating centralized control of metals are increasing. Here’s why…

China Competes With The Comex

As of this summer China now has its own Comex, called the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange. The exchange opened for trade on May 18th (the CME’s incredible margin hikes in silver began only weeks before, which suggests to me that they were trying to preempt the positive effects the HKMEX would have on metals). The HKMEX moved into action only five months after the Chinese Pan American Gold Exchange was instituted. The exchange issues its own ETF’s in gold and silver. These securities, though, are not based on leverage or derivatives like most Comex based ETFs. The bottom line; the Comex global monopoly on commodities trade is over:

This would explain gold’s unstoppable expansion into the $1800 range, and how silver was able to climb back after the CME’s brutal margin manipulation into the $40 range. Only last week, the CME issued a margin hike on gold of 22%. Despite this the fall in gold was minimal, showing that their influence, though vast, is beginning to wane. With competition, manipulation becomes more difficult, and room for growth is created.

The new Hong Kong Exchange coupled with the now explosive buying of physical PM’s by Chinese consumers is slowly but surely overriding the long prevailing manipulations of corporate robber barons intent on ensuring gold and silver are never treated as a currency alternative to the dollar. Silver markets in the East were set into motion a bit more slowly than gold markets were, but given a little more time, I suspect that the resultant spike in silver prices will be the same.

Global Silver Investment Growing

World investment in silver rose by an impressive 40% in 2010 and industrial use increased by 12%, while global supply from mining production only increased by 5%. Growth of demand severely outweighs the growth of supply. After the opening of the HKMEX, China rushed into silver markets. The CME margin hikes that caused the substantial drop in silver spot price in May only served to create a buying opportunity for those investors smart enough to see the writing on the wall. After the S&P downgrade of the U.S. AAA credit rating, silver values did not skyrocket like gold’s, but in the face of extensive manipulation attempts by the CME and major banks, silver’s steadfast hold to its current prices says quite a bit about is resiliency.

One very important factor to consider is that silver is the common man’s currency, and has been for thousands of years. Both gold and silver are solid hedges against financial crisis, especially inflation. However, silver retains more accessibility. As gold continues its climb into the thousands of dollars per ounce, silver will become more appealing to those of us who want to protect our savings, but can’t afford gold. Being that the economic crisis we currently face is unfolding in almost every nation, the demand for a safe haven will increase exponentially. It is only a matter of time before silver is engulfed by an enormous surge of buyers.

With the Federal Reserve continuing to print progressively devaluing dollars, the European Central Bank announcing its own TARP measures, and China in the midst of a full-on inflationary battle royale, national currencies are undoubtedly losing market favor. Gold’s price will soon become unreachable for common people, but silver will be there to fill the void.

How To Break The Barrier

Methods for smaller investors to fight back against the market manipulations of large banks have been sparse, and often limited to desperate appeals to the CFTC and the government, who are bought and paid for, and who have no intention of ever stopping global financiers from dragging their unwashed behinds across the face of the planet. Relying on bureaucrats to mend the wounds they themselves encouraged or inflicted is foolhardy, to say the least. Top down solutions are NOT an option now, and I’m not sure if they ever were. This leaves us with only one other choice; to fix the problem with our own hands from the bottom up. This is, of course, easier said than done…

In the case of silver manipulation, what we are faced with is an unprecedented effort to subvert and suppress an alternative system so that the mainstream system can continue to assert control over our financial lives. To effectively confront this issue, we must first end our reliance of the mainstream system. The longer we continue to participate in the fraud, the longer it will go on. Here are just a few strategies for decoupling, and walking away from the rigged game…

1) End The ETF Casino: If you play the ETF lottery, for god sakes, STOP! You are only perpetuating the con-game that is paper silver. While the allure of speed of light silver trade can be overwhelming, the bottom line is that even though you may think you have the market right where you want it, you don’t. ETFs are an amazing rip off. Trade fees can nickel and dime smaller traders to death. ETFs being held, even without trade, lose value through numerous surcharges as companies nibble away at your holdings. Most ETFs also will NOT allow you to take physical delivery of silver when cashing out your equities unless you have extensive holdings, and even then, it may take months for the silver to reach your doorstep. Because banks issue ETFs for silver they don’t actually have, they would never allow you to exchange them for physical if they can help it. Otherwise, the scam would be exposed, and they would be out of business.

Playing the margins is shear stupidity when you realize that global banks are hell bent on suppressing silver values. There is no rhyme or reason to silver ETFs and margin hikes beyond the whims of corporate puppeteers. Mainstream analysts can pretend as if there is a hard science to this brand of investment, but in reality, it is a large and very expensive joke. Unless you have a crystal ball, your only other tactic for discerning when to sell is pure luck. The very idea of the CME being able to control the price of physical by hiking the margins of paper securities that represent silver that doesn’t even exist is a farce beyond reckoning.

Buy physical, not paper. Be a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

2) Vault Storage Depositories: If you aren’t a buy and hold investor, and insist on participating in short term selling strategies, there is an effective (and smarter) alternative to ETFs and the fake paper market. Silver and gold vault storage depositories allow you to buy and store large quantities of physical metal while having the option of liquidating your holdings for cash just as quickly as if you were selling ETFs. Depositories do not charge hidden fees and do not reduce your silver holdings while they are in the vault. What you put in is what you get back. Period.

Because your silver is already sitting in their vault, a mere phone call allows you to liquidate a portion or all of your stock into cash whenever you wish, just like ETFs, but without the fraud. On top of this, depositories will deliver any or all of your silver or gold on demand to your doorstep, usually within 48 hours. If a sizable number of silver investors switched from ETFs to vault depositories, the ETF market would crumble, and market manipulation would end.

3) Encourage Physical Trade: Max Keiser’s ‘Crash JP Morgan’ campaign was an excellent first step in encouraging silver investment by showing average Americans that they can hurt the big banks simply by purchasing something they don’t want you to have. The next logical step would be to, of course, encourage larger ETF investors to demand physical delivery on their holdings by showing them the folly of the market itself, and, to encourage average investors to actually utilize the silver they buy not just to crash the banks, but for organized trade.

The construction of silver based barter markets must become a priority. Owning silver is not enough. We must start to use it in place of dollars if we are to have any control over our own economy. Barter efforts like this are becoming much more common, but we are still a far cry from full scale utilization of alternative currencies. With the implosion of

the dollar, it will only be a matter of time before metals take primacy as a means of trade, so why not get a head start now? Eventually, the increased circulation of physical will allow the free market to determine the natural value of silver and gold, instead of the subjugated paper market, until finally, the mainstream spot price is completely irrelevant.

4) Offer Incentives: For business owners or for those who are involved in private barter, offering incentives to those who pay in physical would encourage more silver investment, and by extension, more silver circulation as a currency. Add a certain percentage above spot price for silver trade, or, offer a discount on goods or services to those who pay in silver. Businesses, for that matter, could very well give their employees the option of being paid in silver, completing the currency circle and the flow of commerce. The more silver is used day to day, the harder it is for banks to control, and the more its value will rise.

All economies larger than a small village need a unit of trade beyond the barter of goods and services. They also need a unit of trade that maintains its value and buying power, instead of devaluing, inflating, and destroying the savings of those who hold it. Precious metals are the only existing option that can take on this role, and silver is the most attainable for average people. There is a reason why MSM analysts and establishment economists have been trying to crush interest in PM’s for years. There is a reason why global banks have gone out of their way to suppress the market values of metals. The second Americans realize there are other choices, other systems for living and working beyond the controlled paradigm we have been handed, the illusion slips away, and centralization becomes a memory. This is true for all aspects of economic structure, social structure, and political structure, not just for silver or gold. Ultimately, though, we have to start somewhere, and silver is as good a place as any.
